The benefits of the Asana (Pose or position) part of Yoga
Yoga Asana involves positions that work the body in a standing, sitting or lying position. Many postures are created to work a particular part of the body and therefore, you will often find Yoga teachers create a class sequence with an overall purpose. This may be Yoga for runners, Yoga for pre and post natal, Yoga for relaxation, Yoga for strength etc.
Combining several postures into a sequence helps to boost the metabolism, increase lymphatic circulation, remove toxins in the organs, release tension in the body, relieve stress of the mind and bring a chemical balance to the body.
