Why Yoga?
Yoga is a pathway for everyone that aims to help us deal with and prevent physical and mental illness. It is designed to help us align our inner mind with the body to gain a better sense of ourselves and our place in the world. You do not need to be the fittest or most flexible person to engage in Yoga.
The aims of Yoga include:
· To help us remove the obstacles in our life that cause imbalances (imbalances of the mental state are known as chittavritti in Sanskrit).
· Strengthening the bones, muscles and posture of the body. Whilst also improving breathing and increasing energy. This is done via Asana (the physical postures of Yoga).
· Calming the mind.
· Cleansing the body of toxins through Asana, changing eating habits and breathing correctly.
· Reducing stress.
And much much more!
If you haven’t given Yoga a try find your local Yoga studio and try a free session. It is definately worth your time to give it a go and see if it’s for you.
