In need of a quick breakfast or snack? Try this base smoothie recipe.

Super quick smoothie

This great smoothie option will give you the energy you need to get through a busy morning or to survive morning tea without that second or third coffee or soft drink.

What you need (tools and utensils):

  • A blender or food processor

  • A glass or bottle to serve

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup 100% coconut water or low fat skim milk of choice

  • 1 cup no fat vanilla yoghurt

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries or 1 banana

  • Honey to taste or a sprinkle of cinnamon to go with your banana option

Method:

  1. Place yoghurt, coconut water or milk of choice, rolled oats, mixed berries or banana into a large blender or food processor. Blend until a smooth mixture forms. Pour into two tall glasses or a bottle to take on the go and serve immediately.

  • Tip: Mix and match blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or blackberries.

    Add some ice cubes on a hot day.
